Tamar Estine Braxton-Herbert /temr/ (created March 17, 1977), usually known by her maiden name Tamar Braxton, is a Grammy-nominated American vocalist, songwriter, performer, and reality television persona. She’s the youngest sister of R&B singing star Toni Braxton.
In 2000, Braxton started her solo career, after signing with DreamWorks Records and releasing her self titled debut record. The record was unsuccessful, charting at number 127 on the “Billboard” 200. It spawned two singles, “Get None” and “If You Don’t Wanna Love Me”. The label, unsatisfied using the record’s performance, dropped Braxton from the label.
In 2011, Braxton reunited with her sisters for the WE tv reality show, “Braxton Family Values”. The primary season was the #1 rated reality show on WE tv, and the network purchased a 13-episode second season of the show following the next episode.
Braxton has worked on several distinct solo endeavors throughout time, signing with labels for example Casablanca Records and Universal Records, expecting to release an album but tolerating postponements and cancellations. Braxton returned to the music business following a thirteen year break, with her second record, “Love and War” (2013). The record was regarded as a comeback for Braxton, as a result of its success.
In March 2013, it had been disclosed that Braxton had signed to Epic Records ahead of the launch of her second record, Love and War. The record’s lead single, the title track, premiered on December 6, 2012. Although the single reached number one on the United States iTunes graph, it peaked at number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 13 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The tune was followed by the launch of Love and War on September 3, 2013. The record was a commercial success in America, selling 114,000 copies in its opening week, and debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Outside the United States, it debuted at number 34 on the UK R&B Albums Chart.
