Robert De Niro (born August 17, 1943) is an American actor, director, producer, and voice actor. His first important movie roles were in “Bang the Drum Slowly” (1973) and “Mean Streets” (1973). His longtime cooperation with director Martin Scorsese started with “Mean Streets”, and afterwards earned De Niro an Academy Award for Best Actor because of his portrayal of Jake LaMotta in the 1980 movie “Raging Bull”.
