John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English heavy metal vocalist, songwriter, and television personality. Osbourne climbed to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the initiating group Black Sabbath, whose dark and heavy sound has frequently been mentioned as key to the evolution of the heavy metal genre.
