James Joseph Gandolfini, Jr. (September 18, 1961 — June 19, 2013) was an American actor best known for his character as American Mafia crime boss Tony Soprano in the award winning HBO show “The Sopranos”. After wrap “The Sopranos”, Gandolfini produced the documentary “Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq” (2007), where he interviewed ten injured Iraq War veterans.

Gandolfini’s most acclaimed part was Tony Soprano, the lead character in the HBO drama The Sopranos, a New Jersey mob boss and family man whose endless existential question contains routine psychiatric appointments. The show debuted in 1999 and was air until 2007. Along with the awards he won, Gandolfini received numerous nominations and two SAG Awards for being an associate of the show’ ensemble.
