Her iconic film role was the 100-year-old Old Rose in James Cameron's Academy Award-winning film Titanic. In recognition of this work, she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. Receiving her nomination at eighty-seven, she is the oldest person ever nominated for an Academy Award for acting.
