Christopher Anthony John “Chris” Martin (born 2 March 1977) is an English singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist, and is the lead vocalist, pianist, rhythm guitarist, plus among the creators of the group Coldplay.
They were joined by Guy Berryman as their bass player and Will Champion, who learnt the best way to play drums so that you can serve as the drummer for the group. In 1996, they formed the rock band Coldplay, initially called Pectoralz, afterwards shifted to Starfish briefly until eventually they were offered the name Coldplay by another group who didn’t need it anymore. Among the first tunes played by the group which exists now is called Ode to Deodorant. The tune was composed as a joke between university buddies and was also put on the demo of the group combined with the tune Brothers & Sisters. Coldplay subsequently carried on to sign a deal using a record company and released their very first EP Safety, which around performed the anticipations of the record company as well as the group. Because the release of their first album Parachutes in 2000 the group has had globally understood celebrity and success. As a solo artist, Martin has composed tunes for various acts including Embrace (“Gravity”) and Jamelia (“See It in a Boy’s Eyes”, co-composed with Coldplay producer Rik Simpson). He also sang part of the vocals for the Band Aid 20 single, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by the end of 2004. In 2005, Martin collaborated with Nelly Furtado around the track “All Good Things (Come to an End)”, for her 2006 record, Loose. Furtado joked regarding the problem, saying that “Yeah, he is my boyfriend — he simply does not understand it yet”.
