Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., (created May 20, 1972), better known by his stage name Busta Rhymes, is an American rapper, producer, and performer from Brooklyn. Early in his career, he was known for his outrageous style as well as manner, and now is famous for his elaborate rapping technique, which includes rapping at a quick speed with a lot of internal rhyme and half rhyme, and to date has received eleven Grammy nominations for his musical work. In the year 2012, “The Source” put him on their listing of the Best 50 Lyricists Ever. MTV has called him “one of hip hop’s best visual artists.”

Busta Rhymes was both a part of Leaders of the New School as well as a founding member of the record label Conglomerate (founded as Flipmode Entertainment) and creation team The Conglomerate (previously Flipmode Squad).
