Robert “Bob” Arum (created December 8, 1931 in Nyc) is the creator and CEO of Top Rank, a professional boxing promotion firm located in Vegas. He also worked for the US Attorney’s Office for the southern district of Ny in the tax department.

Arum grew right up in the Crown Heights section of The Big Apple, with the Orthodox Jewish foundation, and is of Jewish descent. He used his education and company savvy becoming a boxing promoter, notably for Muhammad Ali, and during the 1980s became a driving force supporting the sport, matching Don King. Arum mounted the Hagler-John Mugabi, Hearns-James Shuler double header in Vegas on April, 1986. After the Hearns-Shuler fight, Shuler, who’d lost by knockout in the very first round, showed up at Arum’s hotel room to thank him for the chance to fight Hearns. Ten days after, Shuler was dead within an ill-fated bike mishap. Arum kept generating large-scale under cards and super fights, for example, Hagler-Sugar Ray Leonard fight, the Leonard-Hearns rematch, Evander Holyfield vs. George Foreman and many others. Arum promoted the renowned champ Julio Cesar Chavez in his late years of boxing. Arum has concentrated mainly on boosting Hispanic combatants recently, mentioning surveys which reveal boxing is one of the most used sports inside the Hispanic community. He’s focused many of his shows in the Southwestern part of the U.S., in cities with large Spanish-speaking people. He is in addition the supporter of a lot of the cards on Telefutura, a Spanish language network. Arum is an associate of the International Boxing Hall Of Fame.
